The Practitioner

Alla Malko

     Dr. Alla Malko, L.Ac. is a Licensed Acupuncturist in New Jersey. She holds a Master degree in Electrical Engineering from the Moscow Institute of Energy and a degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from American Liberty University.
     She is a poneer in the Integrated Medicine field and as such is a teacher and clinical supervisor at the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in Montclair, N.J. She is also the head practitioner at the Integrative Medicine Department at the Ambulatory Care Center of Saint Barnabas Health Care System in Livingston, NJ, working as a Clinical Acupuncturist and holds a private practice in Bloomfield, NJ.

     Alla Malko was born in Essentuki, Caucasus, Russia. She was raised in a community famous for the longevity of its people, where the use of natural products and medicinal plants are a tradition that comes from ancient times.
     At an early age she showed her fascination for herbs and non-traditional (For the Western World) healing methods, reassuring her commitment to dedicate herself to the research and application of such methods when she was studying Nuclear Physics, part of the curriculum of Electrical Engineering, professional career on which she graduated and obtained a Master Degree in Industrial Electricity.
     She was part of a young and talented scientific group dedicated to the investigation of paranormal activity and Oriental Medicine, when she worked at the Institute of Nuclear Research of the Academy of Science of the former USSR. In order to further her education and understanding of Oriental Medicine, she obtained a degree in Acupuncture and Natural Medicine at the Institute of Psychological Culture of Essentuki in 1983 and, since then; has continued her studies in the Dominican Republic, Korea, Russia, China, Japan, Belarus and the USA. In 2003 she earned a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine with an award for outstanding dissertation after 2 years postgraduate studies with American Liberty University.

     For one year she was part of a team investigating the Use of Acupuncture in Detoxification of Chemical Substance Addiction at the Clinic of Acupuncture of the Family Care Center of Jersey City Hospital, NJ; also, for two years, she worked in a State Project at the Primary Care Center of East Orange, NJ, dedicated to the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine for treatment of patients infected with HIV.

     Alla Malko maintains her studies and research in Acupuncture and Alternative Medicine with world renown authorities, conveying her knowledge to many of the people interested in Holistic Medicine, whose number increases every day. She’s been a lecturer in the USA, Russia and the Dominican Republic.

     Being in permanent contact with a community concerned about alternative medicine, she has developed a series of very instructive seminars with the noble purpose of making easier and affordable the human health care. Some of her seminars include: Diagnosis in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Auriculotherapy – Diagnosis and Treatments, Acupressure, Koryo Hand Therapy, Yin-Yang Nutrition, Contact-less Massage by the Method of Djuna, and Gem therapy (Crystal Healing).
